Fleetwood Town’s youth player’s booked a place in the next round of the FA Youth Cup with a convincing win over Vauxhall Motors.

Ryan Tanser opened the scoring in the first period but Motors hit back to go into the break level.

A flood of second half goals from man of the match Jack Duggan (2, 1 pen), Josh Few (2) and Chris Vivian firmly put Town into the next round.

Town had progressed from the preliminary round thanks to a 3-1away win at Prescot Cables.

Alan Wright’s men now face either Nantwich Town or Ashton Athletic in the 3rd Qualifying Round.

Academy manager Wright said “I felt that, as a group, we played very well. We could possibly have scored more goals in the first half and it was just one lapse of concentration when they got behind to pull back. But we then went on to dominate the game.

“We had a few stand-out players with Jack Duggan being magnificent, Andy Bennett played really well as did Josh Few. In fact everyone had a good game.

“They were a good team to be fair but we got the ball down and played some really good football.”
