Fleetwood Town Reserves Vs Witton Albion

Fleetwood Reserves Vs Witton Albion

Result : 4 - 1

GalaxyFootball Lancashire League

A tricky away fixture against a team we have just played recently in a home draw 1 apiece, the reserves squad was bolstered by six first team squad members who turned out for tonight's fixture,Simon Grand ,Jack Duggan,Joe Comozzi,John Miles,Sean Clancy and Nick Rogan.

Town got the perfect start after 8 mins when John Miles collected a ball just inside his own half taking the ball in his stride he ran across his man to lift the ball over the advancing keeper.(0-1)Tales was up for Town and dominated with some excellent first time passing which Witton had no answer to.Nick Rogan nearly doubled Town's lead when his low effort was pushed away from the home keeper.Witton knocked Town out of there stride midway through the first half and was under the cosh a little with keeper Kieran O'Boyle making three excellent saves to keep Witton at bay.

Young striker Ben Duffield made an excellent run across the line and was through on goal he crossed to the far post where Nick Rogan blazed over from ten yards,in hindsight Duffield could and should of gone it alone and tried a shot himself.Sean Clancy and John Miles was pulling all the strings in midfield causing mayhem in the Witton defence.Witton was given a lifeline when Jack Duggan had allegedly pulled at his marker and a penalty was given by the inconsistent ref,up stepped Witton to level things just before the break giving the heroic O;Boyle no chance.(1-1) HT

Nothing much to say to the lads at the break only to keep playing the way we did the first quarter and we would come and on top (some inspired words from the watching Craig Madden at the brake also helped)
Town weathered what ever Witton had thrown at them, and this time made there first effort in the second half count when Simon Grand headed home Town's second at the far post to restore Town;s lead.(1-2).
Two mins A Trialists ran from the centre circle past three markers to slot home at the far post (1-3).to more or less put the game beyond Witton.

Town was in rampant mood now and further efforts from Josh Few and John Miles nearly extended Town;s lead further but for some good goalkeeping,Nick Rogan was next to get on the score sheet when he drilled in a beauty of a left foot shot into the top corner for Town's fourth.(1-4) Town now had the luxury of bringing the hard working Sean Clancy off for Lewis Thewlis who was in the action straight away with some clever footwork eluding his marker to whip over a cross to the far post which Josh Few was inches away.Town had the game in the bag and was playing some fantastic football which Witton had no answer to.Another substitute for Town bringing on Kyle Bennett for the Trialists.Nick Rogan then had a useful ten minute cameo performance in the middle of the park in which he seemed to relish.FT 1-4

Summary;A fantastic night for Town who played some excellent stuff throughout and a massive thanks for the first team players for there faultless hard working shift they put in to night which brought the younger lads on no end. Some useful and eye catching performance's from O'Boyle Few,and Duffield on a night which brought Town our first win of the season.
